Landing Pages & One-Pagers

Not every project needs a website with twenty subpages. A landing page pursues a single goal: the sign-up, the enquiry or the purchase from your campaign. A one-pager tells your whole offering compactly on one page, ideal for small businesses, start-ups and events. We build both quickly, clearly structured and measurable, so visitors turn into enquiries.

01

Why the landing page decides the success of your campaign

Anyone who clicks on an ad has a specific expectation, a specific need and little patience. If that person lands on a general homepage with ten menu items, they search briefly, don’t immediately find what was promised, and they’re gone. The advertising budget has been spent, and the enquiry never comes. This is exactly where it’s decided whether a campaign works. It isn’t the ad alone that brings in customers, but what happens after the click, and in the first few seconds.

A landing page picks up the promise of the ad, leads straight to the goal and has a single job: the enquiry, the sign-up, the purchase. No distractions, no menu leading people away, no sideshows. That’s why a well-built landing page converts significantly better than a normal website, and that’s why your cost per enquiry goes down. Every franc you put into Google Ads, social media or a promotion works harder as a result, and in the end you can see what it delivered.

02

What a landing page from Fox Computers delivers

With us, every element of the page serves the one goal you’re pursuing with the campaign. A strong opening that makes clear in seconds what it’s about. A clear benefit instead of a list of features. Arguments that dispel typical doubts, and trust elements such as testimonials, references or guarantees. And an unambiguous call to action that repeats without becoming pushy. We write and design so that visitors understand in seconds what it’s about, and then actually act.

Technically, we build for speed without compromise. A landing page that takes several seconds to load loses some of its visitors before they’ve even seen anything. That’s why we keep the code lean, optimise every image and develop mobile first, because most clicks from ads come from smartphones. The design adopts your brand identity but stays consistently focused on the campaign goal. And with clean tracking, you see exactly what the page has achieved in the end.

One-pager or landing page: which suits you?

A one-pager is a complete website on a single page. Services, about, FAQ and contact follow one after the other, and an anchor menu jumps to the right spot with a click. It suits small businesses, start-ups, associations and events whose offering can be explained in a few sections. Visitors scroll through a clear story instead of clicking through menus, and on a smartphone that feels completely natural. For the freight forwarder Transuisse from Pratteln, we built exactly this kind of one-pager: services, team and FAQ on one page, plus a smart enquiry form that only shows the relevant fields, such as pick-up location, date and weight, depending on the type of transport.

A landing page, on the other hand, has exactly one goal and serves a campaign. It picks up people who have responded to an ad, a newsletter or a QR code, takes up the promise and leads them to the action without distraction, such as signing up or buying. For the workshop of Basel artist Audrey Marti, we built a page like this: the schedule, testimonials and impressions win people over, and a booking form with date selection completes the sign-up directly. The rule of thumb: if you want to present your business, the one-pager is right. If you want to collect sign-ups or enquiries for a specific offer, it’s the landing page. In a free initial consultation, we find out what suits you.

04

Who a landing page is worth it for

A landing page is worth it whenever you direct visitors to a specific offer. That applies to businesses that run Google Ads or social media ads and want to get more out of their budget. To businesses with a new product or service that deserves its own stage. To organisers collecting sign-ups. And to anyone who wants to test an offer before rebuilding their whole website. It also does a good job as an addition to an existing website that is too general for campaigns.

SMEs in the Basel region and across Switzerland benefit in particular: those that run campaigns without a large marketing department and want to know whether the effort pays off. A landing page is manageable in effort, quickly online and delivers measurable numbers that help plan the next campaign better. If you advertise today and send the clicks to your homepage, a landing page is probably the cheapest lever for turning the same budget into more enquiries and sales.

05

Typical uses for landing pages

The classic is the campaign page for Google Ads: anyone searching for a specific service lands on a page that explains exactly that service and clears the way to an enquiry. Product launches get a focused page that puts a single offer centre stage. Events and courses need a sign-up page with date, programme and form. Seasonal promotions and limited-time offers run on their own page, which disappears once they end or is adapted for the next round.

Landing pages are also well suited to lead generation: a guide, a checklist or a calculator in exchange for a contact address, which may later turn into a customer. And when the message and target audience vary, a separate page per campaign is often worth it. For this, we build templates that can be adapted quickly, so the second and third pages take considerably less effort than the first. We work out together which case applies to you before we write a single line of copy.

06

How your landing page comes together

First, we clarify the goal: what should the person do in the end, and where are they coming from? From this, we derive the message, structure and call to action. We write the copy and design the page, you give feedback, and only once the structure and message are right do we build it technically. Because the scope is focused, this goes quickly: a landing page is often online within a few days to two weeks, depending on content and scope.

Before launch, we test the page on all devices, check loading time, form and confirmation e-mail, and set up tracking so conversions are recorded from day one. The work doesn’t stop after launch: we look at the numbers with you, test variants of the headline, image or call to action on request, and improve the page step by step. With each round, the first version turns into one that converts better and uses your budget more efficiently.

07

Tracking, measurability and data protection

So that you know what works, we set up clean tracking from the start. You see where your visitors come from, which ad or channel brings in the most enquiries and how well the page converts. We set up conversion tracking for Google Ads so your ads become measurable and optimisable. This is the basis for directing budget to where it delivers results, instead of deciding on gut feeling or letting ads run that bring nothing.

For us, measuring doesn’t mean collecting at any price. We implement tracking in compliance with data protection law, with proper consent where it’s required, and without scripts that slow the page down. A/B tests are possible when there are enough visitors to actually detect differences; otherwise, we honestly advise against them. We present the numbers so that you can understand them without a degree in analytics and derive your next decision from them, such as which message deserves more budget.

08

Getting found, even without ads

A landing page usually lives on paid visitors from ads, but it doesn’t have to be limited to them. If the page explains an offer clearly and understandably, it can also rank organically on Google and appear in the answers of AI assistants when someone asks for exactly that service in your region. That’s why we build it just as cleanly from a technical point of view as a website, with a meaningful title, a clear structure and texts that answer real questions instead of just repeating advertising promises.

This doesn’t apply to every campaign page; a promotion that ends after two weeks doesn’t need search engine optimisation. For service pages that run long term, though, it’s a real gain, because such pages then bring in enquiries from the Basel region and across Switzerland, even when the ad budget is paused or cut altogether. We tell you which case applies to you and set up the page accordingly, instead of putting in effort that achieves nothing.

09

What a landing page costs

A landing page costs significantly less than a complete website because the scope is focused: one page, one goal, one form, no menu and no subpages. The exact effort depends on whether copy and images are available, whether tracking and ads are connected and whether variants are wanted. A flat figure wouldn’t be serious; what you get is a clear quote up front, with no hidden items. Follow-up pages based on the same template cost less than the first.

What matters is the maths behind it: a landing page that noticeably increases your campaign’s conversion rate lowers the cost per enquiry to the same degree. To make that happen, we avoid the usual mistakes: a page that talks about the company instead of the benefit; a menu that leads visitors away; a form with too many fields; a call to action that only comes at the very bottom; and scripts that ruin the loading time. In a no-obligation initial consultation, we show you what budget is realistic.

Questions and answers

What is the difference between a landing page and a one-pager?

A landing page pursues a single campaign goal; a one-pager is a complete, compact website on a single page. The landing page picks up visitors from an ad or a newsletter and leads them, without a menu, to one action, such as a sign-up. The one-pager presents your whole business, with services, team, references and contact, and navigates to the sections via an anchor menu. Fox Computers has built both: a one-pager with an enquiry form for the freight forwarder Transuisse, and a landing page with a booking form for Audrey Marti’s workshop.

Who is a one-pager website suitable for?

A one-pager suits small businesses, start-ups, associations and events that can fully explain their offering on one page. Instead of many subpages, visitors scroll through sections such as services, about, FAQ and contact, and an anchor menu jumps straight to the right spot. It’s clear, pleasant on a smartphone and quicker to build than a classic website. The freight forwarder Transuisse from Pratteln uses one to present its transport services across Europe and takes enquiries via a form. For extensive offerings with many services, a website with subpages is the better choice.

How much does a landing page or one-pager cost?

At Fox Computers, a landing page costs from CHF 3,000; a one-pager starts in the same range and becomes correspondingly more involved with more sections. The starting price includes concept and structure, design and build, a form or sign-up, a tracking setup and a fast, mobile-optimised page. It costs more when multiple languages, variants for A/B tests or connections to ad accounts and CRM are added. Follow-up pages based on the same template cost less than the first. Additional work is billed transparently at CHF 130 per hour.

How quickly can a landing page go live?

At Fox Computers, a landing page is online in 1 to 3 weeks, depending on how quickly texts, images and feedback are available. Because the scope is focused, it’s faster than a whole website: we clarify the goal and target audience, work out the structure with you, design the page and build it. Before launch, we test the form, confirmation e-mail, loading time and tracking on all devices. For campaigns with a fixed start date, such as a trade fair or an event, we plan backwards from the date so there’s enough time left for ads and testing.

Can a one-pager rank well on Google?

Yes, a one-pager can rank well on Google, especially for your company name, your region and a clearly defined offering. But because everything sits under one address, it has only one page title and one description, which makes it harder to rank for many different search terms. Fox Computers compensates for this with a clear heading structure, structured data based on Schema.org and an FAQ section that answers typical questions directly. This also helps with AI assistants such as ChatGPT. If you want to be found for several services individually, separate subpages are worth it.

Can I expand a one-pager into a full website later?

Yes, Fox Computers usually builds one-pagers on WordPress with its own site builder, so you can later add subpages, a blog, languages or a shop. The sections of the one-pager become standalone pages, and the design and building blocks are kept. That way you start quickly and affordably, for example when founding your company, and grow with your business without starting from scratch. When expanding, we set up the necessary redirects so existing links and rankings are preserved. We quote the effort separately as soon as it’s clear what’s being added.

How do I measure whether my landing page is working?

Whether your landing page is working is shown by the conversion rate: the share of visitors who submit the form, book or buy. For this, Fox Computers sets up a tracking foundation, for example with Google Analytics or a privacy-friendly alternative, and links conversions to Google Ads or Meta if you run ads. This shows you which channel and which message bring in enquiries and what an enquiry costs. We implement tracking in line with the revFADP and GDPR, with consent where it’s required. We discuss the numbers in plain language, without jargon.

What does a landing page need to bring in enquiries?

An effective landing page needs a clear headline, a concrete benefit, proof of trust and exactly one call to action with a short form. The headline picks up the promise of the ad so visitors know immediately they’re in the right place. Then come benefits instead of a feature list, answers to typical doubts and evidence such as testimonials or references. The call to action is repeated, and the form only asks for what is really necessary. Fox Computers avoids menus that lead visitors away and keeps the page fast, because most clicks from ads come from smartphones.

Can I take sign-ups and bookings through a landing page?

Yes, a landing page from Fox Computers takes sign-ups, bookings or enquiries directly via a form, including a confirmation e-mail to you and to the person enquiring. For the workshop of Basel artist Audrey Marti, participants choose the date and number of people in the form and sign up in a single step. Depending on the selection, forms can show additional fields, like the enquiry form of the freight forwarder Transuisse, which asks for pick-up location, date and weight for a transport order. Online payments with TWINT or credit card can be added if needed.

Do I need a separate landing page for every advertising campaign?

Usually yes, because a landing page works best when the message and offer match the ad and target audience exactly. Someone searching for a specific product should see exactly that product, not a general homepage. So that not every campaign starts from scratch, Fox Computers builds reusable templates in which you adjust the headline, images and texts yourself. The second and third pages then cost considerably less than the first, which starts at CHF 3,000. With enough visitors, we test variants of the headline or call to action against each other to find the stronger version.
