New Website

A new website is your most important salesperson, working around the clock: no holidays, no breaks and no bad days. We develop your presence from the ground up, strategically planned, individually designed and cleanly coded. We combine thoughtful design with technology that loads fast and gets found reliably. The result is a foundation that builds trust, is visible on Google and in the answers of AI assistants, and turns visitors into real customers.

01

Why a new website decides on growth today

Most people decide within a few seconds whether they trust a company. Today that decision is almost always made online, long before the first conversation takes place. So your website is not just a digital business card but the place where interest turns into an enquiry. Convince people here and you win customers. Hesitate and you lose them to the competition, just one click away.

At the same time, the rules of the game have changed. Search engines rate speed, mobile-friendliness and content quality more strictly than ever. AI assistants answer questions directly, drawing on pages that are clearly structured and easy to understand. A website that was good enough five years ago quickly falls behind in this environment. It loads too slowly, looks messy on a phone or does not give the answers your target audience is looking for.

That is why a new website is rarely just cosmetic. It is an investment in visibility, trust and predictable growth. This is exactly where we come in: we do not build a pretty façade but a tool that works for you every day.

02

What a new website from Fox Computers delivers

With us, a project does not start with a design template but with your goals. Do you want more enquiries, better-qualified contacts or simply a presence that matches your standards? Every further decision follows from that answer, from the page structure and the copy to the last detail of the design.

The result is a presence that does three things at once. It looks like your brand and not like a thousand others. It leads visitors straight to the next step, whether that is a call, a quote or a purchase. And it is built so cleanly that Google and AI systems understand it without any trouble.

So you do not get a collection of pretty pages but a well-thought-out system. Every page has a job, every text a purpose, every button a goal. That turns your website into a sales channel that makes a measurable contribution to your business instead of just making an impression.

Who benefits most from a new website

A new website pays off whenever your current presence no longer reflects what you do. Perhaps you have just started out and need a professional foundation to build on. Perhaps your business has grown while the website has stood still. Or you notice that hardly any enquiries come in through the site, even though there are visitors.

Small and medium-sized businesses in the region benefit most: those that want to stay visible against the competition without a big marketing department behind them. Service providers who need to build trust before the first conversation happens. And local businesses that want to be found online when someone nearby searches for exactly what they offer.

If you recognise yourself in any of these, the right time is now. The sooner the foundation is right, the sooner it pays off.

04

Common use cases for a new website

In practice, a new website does very different jobs. For one business it is the central hub where prospects find everything important and get in touch directly. For another it is a stage that shows off references, awards and testimonials in the best light, building trust before the phone rings for the first time.

Local businesses use their website to be visible exactly when someone nearby searches for what they offer, with opening hours, directions and a clear path to booking. Service providers, on the other hand, explain complex services in plain terms and take away their customers’ doubts about whether they have come to the right place.

Which case applies to you is something we work out together. What matters is that your website does not try to be everything to everyone, but does its most important job really well. That focus is exactly what separates a website that brings in enquiries from one that merely exists.

05

How your new website comes together

We work in clear steps so you always know where your project stands. It begins with a conversation about goals, target audience and competition. From that we develop a strategy that defines which pages you need, which messages matter and how visitors are guided to take action.

Next, we design the structure and look. You see early on how your website will look and feel, and you have a say before any code is written. Only once the concept convinces do we build it cleanly, fill it with content and test every feature on every device.

Before launch we put speed, display and findability through their paces. After go-live we do not leave you on your own: we show you how to manage the site, are there for questions and keep developing it with you. That way your website is still up to date and effective a year from now.

06

What to expect when you work with us

A good result comes from good collaboration. That is why you have one fixed point of contact from start to finish, someone who knows your project and answers your questions directly. You do not talk to a call centre and you do not have to explain yourself all over again every time.

We keep you up to date without burying you in jargon. We prepare decisions so you can make them without technical knowledge. And we tell you honestly what makes sense and what does not, even when the honest answer is that a smaller solution is the better one for you.

We treat deadlines and costs as binding. You always know where you stand, get your project on time and can rely on us to stay reachable after launch. That is exactly what we mean by support that goes beyond the launch.

07

Technology, speed and security

A beautiful website is of little use if it loads slowly or breaks on a phone. That is why we build for speed from the ground up. We optimise images, keep the code lean and make sure the first content appears instantly. Google rewards that with better rankings, and your visitors with an experience that does not get on their nerves.

We develop mobile first. Most of your target audience is on the go with a smartphone, so your website has to work flawlessly there, not just on a big screen. Security matters just as much: up-to-date technology, secure connections and regular updates protect your site and your customers’ data.

We choose the technology behind the scenes to suit your needs. For easy maintenance we often rely on a proven content management system; for special requirements we develop custom solutions. You do not have to worry about any of it. We choose what fits your project and explain it to you in plain terms.

08

Getting found on Google and in AI answers

The best website is worthless if nobody finds it. That is why findability is not an afterthought for us but part of the work from the very start. We build a clean page structure, write meaningful titles and ensure correct, readable HTML that search engines understand effortlessly.

The content matters at least as much. We write copy that answers your customers’ real questions, in clear language and with the terms your target audience actually uses. That kind of content ranks on Google and is increasingly picked up by AI assistants when someone asks about what you offer.

That way you are present in both places people search today: in the classic list of results and in the direct answers of modern assistants. This double visibility gives you a head start that competitors with outdated sites will not catch up with any time soon.

09

From the region, for all of Switzerland

We are at home in north-western Switzerland and know the market in and around Basel first-hand. That proximity is a real advantage: short distances, face-to-face meetings and a partner who understands your region and your customers. If you like, we sit down at the same table instead of just sending e-mails back and forth.

At the same time, we have long worked far beyond the local area. We look after many of our projects for clients all over Switzerland, regardless of location and just as reliably. Whether you are round the corner or at the other end of the country makes no difference to quality, speed or personal support.

So you get the best of both worlds: the reliability of a regional partner and the reach that moves your business forward across Switzerland. And if something is ever urgent, you can reach us quickly and easily, not days later.

10

What a new website costs

Quoting a flat figure would not be serious, because the price depends on scope, features and content. A focused site for a service provider is a different task from an extensive presence with many sections and languages. What you get from us is clarity: a transparent quote up front, with no hidden items and no nasty surprises at the end.

We do not think in terms of as cheap as possible, but as effective as possible. A website that costs a few hundred francs and brings in no enquiries is more expensive than a well-thought-out solution that regularly delivers new customers. That is exactly why we invest time at the start in strategy and structure, so every franc goes into results.

In a no-obligation conversation, we are happy to show you what budget is realistic for your plans and how the investment pays off for you. If you wish, we can split the work into stages so you go online early and expand step by step instead of having to tackle everything at once.

11

The mistakes we avoid for you

Many websites fail not because of the design but because of avoidable mistakes. The most common one: the site talks about the company instead of answering visitors’ questions. We turn that around and put the benefit to your customers at the centre, so it is clear why they should work with you of all people.

A second classic is unclear next steps. When visitors do not know what to do, they do nothing. We guide them to the goal with clear calls to action. On top of that come technical stumbling blocks such as long loading times, missing mobile optimisation or a structure that confuses Google. We consistently clear those out of the way too.

And finally, many sites fade into insignificance because nobody looks after them after launch. We plan your website so it stays easy to maintain and grows with your business. A new website is not a project you finish once and then forget, but a tool that keeps delivering for years with the right care.

Questions and answers

How much does a new website cost in Switzerland?

A new website from Fox Computers costs from CHF 4,500 if you bring the design, and from CHF 7,000 with the full service including concept and design. The starting price covers the scope described: WordPress with our own site builder, SEO basics, contact form, training and go-live. More pages, additional languages, integrations or a shop increase the effort. Anything beyond the quote is billed transparently at CHF 130 per hour. After the free 30-minute initial call you receive a quote in which every item is clearly itemised.

How long does it take until my new website is online?

A new website from Fox Computers is online in 3 to 5 weeks if you supply the design, and in 4 to 8 weeks with the full service. The content has the biggest influence on the timeline: if copy and images are ready early and feedback comes back within a few days, we stay at the lower end. Additional languages, many subpages or interfaces extend the project. We set the schedule with all milestones together at the kick-off, so you always know what is coming next.

How does a website project with Fox Computers work?

A website project at Fox Computers runs in five steps: kick-off, concept and design, development, go-live and support. It starts with a free 30-minute conversation, by phone or at our office in Sissach. In the kick-off we clarify goals, target audience and page structure. You then see the design before we write any code. Development takes place on a staging environment that you can view at any time. Once you approve, we go live, train you in the CMS and remain available for questions and further development with one fixed point of contact.

Can I edit my website’s content myself?

Yes, you manage text, images and entire pages yourself, without any coding skills, in the WordPress back end with our own site builder. Instead of an overloaded page builder you get exactly the building blocks your website needs, such as text blocks, image galleries, team lists or forms. Every building block is designed so the layout does not fall apart, whatever you add. Go-live includes a training session where you learn to create pages and change content. If you do not have time for that, Fox Computers takes care of maintenance as part of a service contract.

Why do you build websites without bought templates?

Fox Computers builds every website on its own WordPress theme, because bought templates are slower, harder to maintain and interchangeable. Off-the-shelf themes are built for as many buyers as possible and therefore load features and scripts you will never need. That costs loading time, and Google rewards short loading times. On top of that, many vendors stop supporting their themes after a few years, and the theme then no longer works with new PHP and WordPress versions. A custom theme contains only what your website needs, looks like your brand and can be kept up to date for years.

Will my new website be found on Google and in AI answers such as ChatGPT?

Yes, Fox Computers builds every new website so that Google understands it and AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini can use it as a source. That includes clean HTML, clear headings, descriptive URLs, structured data based on Schema.org and short loading times. For visibility in AI answers, also known as GEO, what counts most is copy that answers specific questions directly, for example with prices, processes and region. Nobody can guarantee a particular ranking, but a solid technical and content foundation is the prerequisite for being mentioned at all.

Do I need finished copy and images before the project starts?

No, to get started all you need are your goals, a rough idea of the pages and the material you already have. Fox Computers works out the structure with you in the kick-off, and that shows which content is really needed. We only need the final copy and images during development. With the full service from CHF 7,000, we help you with structure, copy and image selection so the content convinces. The only important thing is that the material is ready in time, because missing copy is the most common reason for delays.

Can my website be multilingual, for example in German, French and English?

Yes, Fox Computers builds multilingual websites in as many languages as you need, with a separate URL for each language and correct hreflang tags for Google. That way someone in French-speaking Switzerland finds the French page and someone in Zurich the German one. You manage all language versions in the same WordPress back end and can see which pages have not been translated yet. You or a translation agency supply the translations; we take care of the import and technical setup. Every additional language increases the effort, so we include them in the quote from the start.

What does a website cost for maintenance and hosting after go-live?

For updates, backups, security and small changes, Fox Computers offers a service contract from CHF 1,560 per year. Under it we keep WordPress, the theme and plugins up to date, back up the data regularly and step in when something is not working. Hosting and domain need to be budgeted separately depending on the provider and package; we recommend hosting in Switzerland. Without a service contract, work is billed by time at CHF 130 per hour. A website without regular updates becomes a security risk over time, which is why we recommend ongoing support.

Will my new website comply with the revFADP and the GDPR?

Yes, Fox Computers builds websites so that they meet the technical requirements of the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) and, where necessary, the European GDPR. That means an encrypted HTTPS connection, forms without unnecessary data fields, fonts and scripts hosted locally wherever possible instead of on third-party servers, and a cookie banner only where tracking actually requires consent. We show you which services process data so your privacy policy is complete. You are responsible for the text itself; for a legal review we recommend a specialist.
